Card games are always exciting. From games you play against the dealer to those where you need to outwit fellow players around the table – they’re a big hit.
However, sometimes you might want to play it a bit differently. Here are some alternative card games you might in a casino:
Casino War
This game is part Blackjack, part Poker, and part that card game you played as a kid when you aimed to get a higher card than the dealer. The aim is exactly that – to draw a higher card than the dealer, and the cards are ranked in the same way they’re ranked in Poker. The only difference is that Aces are high, always.
You play Casino War on card table that’s similar to a Blackjack table (in fact, a Blackjack table will do). You also use six decks, making it a very high drawing game. Each round, you place your bet and the dealer hands out one card each to the players. The cards are then compared to the dealers. If you get higher, you win. If you get lower, you lose.
If there is a draw, you get to go to war with the dealer. You have to double your bet and the dealer does the same. You then play three draws and compare the cards. That means you have three chances to win, lose or draw.
Choi Ti Dee
This game is quite similar to Rummy. It works with four players; each dealt a hand of cards. The aim is to put your cards out first. If you’re left with cards at the end of a round, you add them up and get a total added to your name. The idea is to have as low a total as possible both at the end of each round and at the end of the game.
There isn’t usually betting that takes place during the game itself. Casinos and gaming halls make money by essentially renting out the tables to players. Of course, you can add some betting on rounds and overall winners to spice things up a bit.
Catch A Wave
This is a fun guessing game. You play with eight decks, and in the same way as you play online blackjack, each player individually goes up against the dealer. As the player, you’re guessing if the next card dealt is going to be higher or lower than the card that was dealt before.
When you call correctly, you can either cash out or you can go again. The dealer will keep drawing each time you call correctly until you stop the game, or you call incorrectly. When you get it wrong, you lose the bet. Once you call a stop to a run, the dealer then draws and calls the same number of cards. The overall winner is then declared based on how often you called correctly versus the dealer calling correctly.
Branch Out of the Norm
Card games can be played in so many different ways at the casino, online, and at home. Why not spice it up a bit next time you want to place a bet and play the cards?
